How To Recycle Content

A lot of time goes into creating content. You’ve got all the seasonal holidays to celebrate, weird national food days (why is National Welsh Rarebit Day even a thing??? So weird…). Wouldn’t it be amazing if you could just repurpose content to fit multiple occasions so you didn’t have to spend time creating it each day? Well, the answer is that you absolutely can! The key is to think of content creation as a puzzle piece made out of clay to be shaped and molded to fit a variety of purposes. If you can master the art of recycling content, your job will be much less time consuming and easier and you’ll be ready for all days when taking a photo “in the moment” just isn’t working out so well.

  • Tell a Story - You can recycle a post by making it part of your stories on Instagram, Snapchat and Facebook.

  • Share your Post on all platforms– Make use of all the platforms. You can reuse captions and pictures with minimal effort. Look at your content and find ways to create bite-sized messages that are still relevant to the topic. Use the messages to share on all of your social media platforms.

  • Instagram stories and Snapchat – Curate content for your Instagram stories in one sitting. Upload to Dropbox and download each individually when you need to use them.

  • Write a part two – Examine one of your more successful posts and craft a follow-up post. For example, if you have done a feature on a client or customer, write a follow up post.

  • Make use of “Throwback Thursdays and Flashback Fridays” - Take advantage of the hashtags #TBT and #FBF to featured old content.

  • Create a Roundup – Gather similar posts into a round-up post that encompasses all posts at once.
