HSC Summer Trends
Hannah’s summer Trend: Frosè
There is seriously nothing better than a cold boozy drink on a hot day, and hot is the name of the game this summer. With offices both in Nashville and New York – we deal with the heat! Basic and proud, this Egg Shop Frosè hits the spot.
Sonya's summer Trend: Pineapple
Miss Paradis' Never Go Back juice is my newest obsession. I love natural juices with pineapple in them, and this is one of the best I've had. Ever.
Cory’s summer trend: Whipwackers
How about a milkshake?
With alcohol?
An alcoholic milkshake?
Yes.
An alcoholic milkshake.
On a hot summer afternoon, it's not irregular to catch me with a Whipwacker from our client, M.L. Rose in hand. Refreshing. Un-inhibiting. What more could you want?
Anne’s summer Trend: Bubble Tea
Bubble Tea is hands down my favorite summer trend. Honestly, it's my favorite all year round! I have a slight obsession. Bubble tea is a drink that contains milk, tea, or even both. Often times, flavors and syrups are added along with the infamous tapioca pearls also known as boba. The possibilities and choices are endless. What isn't there to like? It's the perfect combination of taste and texture.
BoCaphe's delicious take on a bubble tea contains jasmine tea with lychee syrup!
Stefanie’s Trend: Activated Charcoal
About 10 years ago, the juice craze began, juice shops were opening up all over the place….raw this, raw that. Although, most still love a fresh juice full of vitamins, everyone was craving a new detox trend, please introduce activated charcoal! Activated charcoal has become a huge trend this summer, a lot of restaurants are serving charcoal activated drinks, food and even desserts!
This is not the same kind of charcoal to light up your grills though, the activated variety is processed so it becomes ultra-absorbent and safe to consume. It contains tiny sponge-like pores that suck up everything in sight as soon as it hits the digestive track. It is amazing for flushing toxins out of the system. Other awesome benefits activated charcoal offers are boosting your energy level, curing a hangover and weight loss.
A great way to get in on the trend is to try a fresh batch of charcoal lemonade. You can order it online or you can make it at home with this recipe below:
16 oz of filtered water, 1 organic lemon, 1-2 Tbsp Maple Syrup, 1-2 capsules of activated charcoal, 1 pinch of Himalayan salt, and fresh herbs like thyme, rosemary, or basil (optional).
Sam’s summer trend: Watermelon Everything
Watermelon in all things. Watermelon is summer and everyone looks forward to getting stuck into the fruits of this season.
There’s something undeniably nostalgic about watermelon, conjuring up childhood memories of summer days, devouring a big ol’ mess of watermelon wedges with your friends and spitting the seeds at your siblings.
Whether it’s juiced and used in a cocktail or diced and tossed into a salad, it’s hard to go wrong! Almost. This simple pleasure should be just that: simple. Don’t reinvent the wheel. Keep that watermelon taste in tact!
Take this amazing salad made by the culinary queens at Juniper Green. Generous cuts of fresh watermelon with cucumber, red thai chilis, torn cilantro and mint and garnished with black sesame seeds. So simple, so fresh. All those flavors work so beautifully together and allow that watermelon to shine!
