Cultivating client relationships is extremely important in maintaining a prosperous and flourishing PR and social media firm. If you can’t keep your clients happy then your business may suffer. Having good relations with your clients may also bring in new business through great referrals.
At HSC, we pride ourselves on the high touch service we provide our clients. We truly care about the quality of work and make it a goal to cultivate long lasting relationships with them. Here are a few tips on how to connect and create meaningful relationships with your clients.
Make sure your client knows you have their back and are always looking out for their best interests. If your client shows interest in a specific idea or topic regarding their business or industry, do as much research on it as you can to become your client’s source of knowledge.
Get to Know Them Outside of Work:
Spend time with your clients outside of work and get to know your clients on a more personal level. Find out what their hobbies are, where they like to travel, learn about their families, etc. This will form a stronger bond between you and them.
Understand Their Needs and Provide Honest Feedback:
Listen to your client’s needs and provide genuine feedback. As a PR firm, it’s sometimes our job to provide business advice that will help our clients’ companies grow. It’s also our job to let them know that an idea may not be a great fit. It’s our job to guide them towards success.
Empathy is Essential:
Knowing how to be empathetic is very important part of building relationships with clients – or any relationship for that matter! If you can empathize with people and let them know you have the ability to put yourself in their shoes, you will begin to form a lasting relationship.
Consistency is Key:
Consistently being in touch with your clients, providing reports and producing good work is crucial in keeping clients happy. If your clients know you are consistent, they will trust you and will place a higher value on your company. They need to know that you follow through on your word and are working hard for them on a regular basis.
