How to Stay Motivated When You’re Having a Bad Week

Written by Kaitlyn Rice, a Pubic Relations Intern at Hannah Schneider Creative.

Sometimes we all need a little nudge in the right direction. Especially when it comes to motivation… Or at least I know I do. I definitely consider myself a very motivated/active person, mostly because I absolutely hate just laying around. However, I am human and have my bad days where I am completely unmotivated. When this happens I usually have a few things that put me back on track.

Here are the top 3 things I do to get motivated:

1. Morning Routine.

What I do in the mornings sets the tone for the rest of my day. So you can imagine if I hit snooze on my alarm, lay in bed and scroll social media my productivity for that day will be limited. So instead, I usually give myself a few minutes in the morning to fully wake up and the first thing I do is make the bed. I'm a clean freak, but there is something about a freshly made bed that is heavenly. Once I make the bed, I turn on a podcast, make a cup of coffee and get ready for the day.

2. Workout.

If it’s the weekend, I’ll usually throw on my workout clothes in the morning before I do anything else because it motivates me to complete the workout I have planned. I love working out and that probably has everything to do with growing up and playing sports through college. To me, there is nothing better than a super hard sweaty workout that makes me feel refreshed and energized.

3. Hang Around Positive People.

I know it might seem a little cliché, but it is totally true. Positive people are contagious. They will make you want to be a better person and see situations in a brighter light. I consider myself lucky to have such positive and supportive people in my life to help me through all of life’s curve balls.
